In response to a plea from the American Red Cross, Anheuser-Busch has delivered a truckload of over 50,000 aluminium canned emergency drinking water to residents in East Texas. This aid aims to bolster support amidst ongoing severe weather and flooding that has besieged multiple counties in the region and is projected to persist.
{alcircleadd}Following a disaster declaration issued by the Texas government earlier this month for areas in East Texas ravaged by storms and flooding, homes, businesses, and the agricultural sector continue to grapple with the aftermath. In light of these challenges, Anheuser-Busch has stepped in to provide vital emergency drinking water to residents, assisting those already affected by recent severe weather and preemptively aiding those facing potential storm threats.
"The American Red Cross is deeply grateful to Anheuser-Busch and Silver Eagle Distributors Houston for their generous donation and delivery of drinking water following this string of severe weather events in East Texas. We appreciate their ongoing support of our mission and feel fortunate to count them as a partner," said Lauren Ulrich, Executive Director of Operations Management and Logistics for the American Red Cross.
Anheuser-Busch & American Red Cross
Anheuser-Busch boasts a rich history of disaster relief support in partnership with the American Red Cross, a tradition that dates back to 1906. Since the inception of the emergency drinking water program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have collectively contributed over 93 million cans of emergency drinking water. This support extends across 49 states, benefiting communities and volunteer fire departments, underscoring their commitment to ongoing relief and preparedness efforts.
The emergency drinking water donation was entrusted to Anheuser-Busch's wholesaler partner, Silver Eagle Distributors Houston, located in Pasadena, TX. Collaborating closely with the American Red Cross, Silver Eagle Distributors Houston is actively engaged in distributing these crucial resources to local community members and organizations in need.
The emergency drinking water originates from the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Ft. Collins, Colorado, and is complemented by production pauses at the Cartersville, Georgia brewery. This periodic pause in beer production allows for the canning of emergency drinking water, a crucial initiative to aid communities during times of disaster, in collaboration with the American Red Cross.
