Acciona Energía has announced plans to construct a new 412 MWp photovoltaic project in Rajasthan, India, with an expected completion date set for 2025.

The solar farm will comprise approximately 750,000 photovoltaic modules, each boasting a capacity of 545Wp. Anticipated to generate around 800 GWh of green electricity annually, it will be capable of powering approximately 840,000 households while preventing the emission of 724,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
This initiative marks Acciona Energía's largest project in India, augmenting its existing portfolio of four wind farms, and underscores the company's commitment to expansion and geographical diversification.
Moreover, the project will be integrated into Acciona Energy's Social Impact Management program to bolster local communities' education, welfare, and environmental conservation efforts.

India stands as the world's fourth largest power market by installed capacity, with 42 per cent sourced from non-fossil fuel origins. With a target of achieving 500GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, the nation ranks among the most promising territories globally for renewable energy development.
Over the past nine years, India has witnessed a thirty-fold increase in installed solar energy capacity. Rajasthan, specifically, boasts the highest cumulative large-scale solar installations, surpassing 18 GW by the close of 2023. Notably, the solar power harnessed in this region accounts for roughly a quarter of India's cumulative utility-scale solar capacity.
