The five-decade-old aluminium smelter, Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), functions excellently in operations, safety, environment, and socio-economic development and continues to be the world's largest aluminium smelter ex-China with a production of 1,600,111 tonnes in 2022, according to a recent rating released by Wood Mackenzie.

While commenting on Alba's ranking, the Alba'sChairman of the Board of Directors, Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa stated: "Alba's journey of a thousand miles starts with a vision, and I take this opportunity to thank the Leadership of Bahrain and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom for his strategic vision that has seen Alba to where it is today."

A blue-chip asset of the Kingdom of Bahrain, it is noteworthy that Alba has surpassed its annual production target for more than five years, the credit for which goes to the Company’s ambitious organic growth objectives and its dedicated workforce who always go by ‘Safety is Operating License’.
The latest release of AlCircle's industry-focused 'Global Aluminium Industry Outlook 2023' revealed that primary aluminium production in the GCC region increased by about 2.5 per cent in 2022 and stood at about 7.7 million tonnes.
