On September 28, Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) accredited Aludium's cold rolling mill at its Aludium France SAS subsidiary in Castelsarrasin with the Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard V1 (2017) Certification. All three Aludium manufacturing sites have now been certified to the ASI Chain of Custody Standard. In April 2023, Aludium France SAS received Performance Standard Certification.
{alcircleadd}The factory produces bright aluminium products specifically designed to meet the needs of various industries like construction, automotive, transportation, packaging, and general engineering. DNV Business Assurance Services UK Ltd conducted an impartial, third-party audit of the Aludium France SAS facility. The audit occurred before May 31, 2023, allowing for Performance Standard V2 certification. There were no non-conformities found.
"We congratulate Aludium on achieving CoC Certification at their bright aluminium mill at Castelsarrasin, France. Through strategic investments in recycling capacity and preserving the quality of its materials through closed loops with customers, Aludium fortifies its important role in the circular economy. With all of its facilities now certified against the ASI CoC Standard, Aludium demonstrates to its customers that the company is implementing responsible production practices and policies, and that its products meet the ASI Standards," said Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI.
The ASI Certification programme, including several stakeholders, was created following a thorough consultation process. It stands as the sole complete voluntary sustainability standard project for the aluminium value chain. The ASI CoC Standard establishes criteria for establishing a Chain of Custody for materials that undergo production and processing within the value chain, ultimately reaching various downstream industries.
