According to Shanghai Metals Market, the average spot price of alumina has recorded a dip today, May 29, to RMB 3,119 per tonne, after being remained restraint at RMB 3,163 per tonne from May 23 to May 28. After more than a month, the average alumina spot price has registered a decline. Since April 17, the price began to rise incessantly with no interim downfall, ranging between RMB 2,665 per tonne and RMB 3,163 per tonne. Only it showed some intermittent restraints on April 19 at RMB 2,665 per tonne, on May 6-9 at RMB 2,778 per tonne, on May 20 at RMB 3,087 per tonne, and on May23-28 at RMB 3,163 per tonne.
In the east and central, the alumina spot price is standing at RMB 3,110 per tonne and RMB 3,120 per tonne after declining by RMB 40 per tonne and RMB 50 per tonne, while in the north and south, the price has come in at RMB 3,120 per tonne and RMB 3,115 per tonne after registering a drop by RMB 50 per tonne and RMB 15 per tonne, respectively.
The Australian alumina FOB price, on the other hand, has recorded no movement from US$377 per tonne.
Amidst the downfall of alumina spot price, the A00 aluminium ingot price has extended its decline today, on May 29, to RMB 14,230 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,210 per tonne and RMB 14,250 per tonne.
In Hangzhou and Shenyang, the aluminium ingot price has declined today by RMB 70 per tonne to RMB 14,250 per tonne and RMB 14,265 per tonne, while in Foshan, Chongqing, and Gongyi, the price has dwindled by RMB 90 per tonne, RMB 80 per tonne, and RMB 75 per tonne to RMB 14,320 per tonne, RMB 14,260 per tonne, and RMB 14,145 per tonne, respectively.
Input costs like that of the prebaked anode, bauxite, cryolite, and aluminium powder have recorded no change today, on May 29.
