South America’s alumina production stood at 1.064 million tonnes in April 2021, 5.24% higher than the same period last year, according to the latest data showed by the International Aluminium Institute (IAI).The output was 1.011 million tonnes in April 2020. On a month-on-month basis, the alumina production declined by 5.17% from March’s production of 1.122 million tonnes.
{alcircleadd}In January-April 2021, alumina production was 4.220 million tonnes as against as 4.087 million tonnes in January-April 2020.That was up by 3.25% year-on-year.
North America’s alumina production dropped 2.34% year-on-year and 5.43% month-on-month in April 2021. The output stood at 209,000 tonnes in April.In the first four months of 2021, alumina output totalled 840,000 tonnes, from 886,000 tonnes in the first four months of 2020, representing a decrease of 5.19% year-on-year.
