In another update from SMM, China’s exports of aluminium bars, rods and profiles stood at 96,400 tonnes in May, representing an increase of 18.83 year-on-year, showed the latest data from China Customs.
On a month-on-month comparison, exports of aluminium bars, rods and profiles rose 10.45 per cent in May. Those products were under HS code 76041090, 76042100, 76042990, 76041010 and 76042910.
According to Shanghai Metals Market, the devaluation of yuan and Chinese exporters’ efforts to tap markets overseas accounted for the increases in aluminium bars, rods and profiles exports. Higher exports of these products also saw little impact from the anti-dumping measures from the US and Vietnam and higher US tariffs.
