The UK's biggest wagon and tank container fleet, VTG Rail UK, which provides its customers with logistical expertise and innovative digital solutions, has secured a significant ten-year wagon leasing agreement with ALVANCE British Aluminium, a prominent player in the aluminium manufacturing industry.
{alcircleadd}Commencing in January 2025, the partnership will see VTG leasing 20 JPA powder tank wagons to ALVANCE, which joins VTG's growing roster of esteemed clients. This deal marks a notable addition to VTG's expanding client portfolio.
The JPA wagons are set to be upgraded with VTG’s groundbreaking iWagon technology, a state-of-the-art innovation revolutionising the rail freight industry. This upgrade will enhance tracking and operational efficiency, equipping ALVANCE with advanced capabilities to meet the evolving demands of its operations seamlessly.
The JPA powder tank wagons were originally explicitly designed for bulk transportation of powder cement.

The leased wagons are set to serve a critical role in transporting alumina powder from the Port of Blyth in Northumberland to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands. This transport route is essential to ALVANCE’s aluminium production process at one of the world’s most sustainable metal production facilities.
