AMAG Austria Metall AG in Ranshofen, Austria, has reportedly invested 50 million euros in a state-of-the-art surface treatment line to strengthen its position as a leading manufacturer of high-quality aluminium surfaces.
The plant is equipped with cutting-edge technologies to optimise production capacity, efficiency and quality, in view of the growing demand for top-grade and precision-processed aluminium rolled products.
Aluminium surfaces are essential for bonding, welding, soldering, varnishing, and forming parts. Thus, the quality of surfaces matters a lot for further processing and coating options. The usage of aluminium surfaces is widely spread in the architectural sector, decorative surfaces in consumer electronics, the cosmetic industry, radiators and heat exchangers, and the automotive industry.
AMAG's new surface treatment line houses a highly efficient device that facilitates surface cleaning of hot-rolled and cold-rolled aluminium strips. Digital solutions used in the plant also enable carbon footprint reduction to achieve and demonstrate sustainability goals.
In addition, the plant practices exclusive electric heating powered by green energy and integrated wastewater treatment to conduct environmentally friendly production. As a result, using the products produced at this plant helps the customers achieve sustainability.
Helmut Kaufmann, CEO and Chief Technology Officer of AMAG Austria Metall AG, said: "The products from the new surface treatment line enable our customers to further increase the quality of their products and stability of their own production processes. Through environmentally friendly production, we also reduce our carbon footprint and support our customers in achieving their sustainability goals."
