Amalgam unveils hammered aluminium body sculpture of Ferrari 250 GTO

EDITED BY : 1MINS READ

Bristol-based architectural car model maker Amalgam unveiled its new 1:4 scale Ferrari 250 GTO hammered aluminium body sculpture, commemorating when Ferrari started hand-hammering elongated aluminium bodywork. Many noteworthy 250 GTOs that Amalgam has modelled throughout the years' worth of digital scans were used to create the body reproduction for the Ferrari 250 GTO. Each artwork is made using a conventional panel-beating technique from an aluminium sheet.

The technique replicates how Carozzerie Scaglietti's initial full-size bodies were made in the early 1960s. The 1:4 size 250 GTO is proudly shown on a walnut wood trestle, showcasing Ferrari's iconic supercar in its most unpolished state.

Special prices on industry reports

The Ferrari 250 GTO is a GT vehicle built by Ferrari between 1962 and 1964 for Group 3 Grand Touring Car homologation. It was propelled by Ferrari's Tipo 168/62 Colombo V12 engine. It was first unveiled at the 1959 Paris Motor Show and has been redesigned by the company Forge Design to give it a lightweight aluminium and carbon fibre body.
