Apan Metal Recycling (AMR) Industries Ltd plans to construct a new aluminium recycling facility on the outskirts of Scunthorpe, off the Normanby Road, next to the Eddie Wright Raceway stadium. They anticipate that the centre will employ roughly a dozen individuals. A proposition has been made for constructing an office complex and an industrial shed. The company engages in the extraction of aluminium elements from used waste items to recycle them.
To obtain refined aluminium extract from the waste materials it will handle, the newly established recycling facility will incorporate a range of equipment within its industrial structure, including shredders, hoppers, conveyors, and magnetic separators—the business endeavours to acquire around 5,000 metric tonnes of product on an annual basis.
The site spans over seven acres and is presently under the council's ownership; however, it is currently being offered for sale. In addition to constructing two buildings, the project will also involve the establishment of 17 parking spaces for cars and seven parking spaces for bicycles. Furthermore, a weighbridge and a material bulk shop will be included in the development.
The importation of materials into the site is scheduled for around five and a half days per week, with no planned work on Sundays. According to estimates, the traffic volume is projected to consist of one Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) entering and exiting the area daily.
