The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative has certified Novelis’ Voerde and Koblenz sites in Germany against Provisional Performance Standard Certification for remelting, casting, and rolling activities. Novelis Europe has expanded its Chain of Custody scope to include these sites, which means that all of Novelis’ European production facilities are now certified to both ASI standards certifications.

Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI, said: “We congratulate Novelis on achieving Europe-wide ASI Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Standard Certifications, a further demonstration of the company’s strong commitment to sustainability. We are pleased to see Novelis’ major contribution toward increasing the volume of ASI-certified aluminium and helping to inspire other manufacturers and customers to achieve the same standards.”
Emilio Braghi, Executive Vice President of Novelis Inc. & President of Novelis Europe, said: “With total European shipments of more than 1.000 kt and recycled material input of more than 600 kt per year, Novelis is a major contributor to shaping the European aluminium industry. All of our facilities in Europe have now been independently certified to comply to ASI Standards in manufacturing and recycling aluminium, demonstrating that the sustainable aluminium solutions we provide to our customers are responsibly sourced and produced. In line with our purpose of shaping a sustainable world together, we strive to motivate our partners, customers and suppliers to join and implement responsible practices throughout the whole value chain.”
