On May 10, Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) announced the joining of Asiaway Automotive Components Mexico (AWM) as the new Production and Transformation member. AWM specialises in die casting and machining aluminium components. AWM is a subsidiary of Asiaway Group (headquartered in China, Ningbo Asiaway Automotive Components).
“As a growing company, Asiaway realises the importance of the key environmental and social impacts of our work and aims to improve its supply chain to the highest standard possible, particularly all aluminium related,” said Manuel Madrigal, GM at AWM.
Ningbo Haiwei Auto Parts Co., Ltd. was founded in April 2010. The firm is dedicated to auto part research, development, and manufacturing and also assists clients in realising the lightweight of parts via high-pressure die-casting and low-pressure casting moulding of aluminium/zinc alloy materials, welding, and assembly of aluminium extrusion profiles.
The ASI standards are applicable worldwide and cover all phases of the aluminium value chain, including primary aluminium production (including bauxite mining, alumina refining, and aluminium smelting), semi-fabrication and material conversion processes, recycling, and application in final products.
