The saga of the Austal-Capral duo dates back over two decades. As a key supplier of aluminium extruded products, Capral's contribution towards the landmark journey of Austal from being a modest fishing vessel manufacturer to Australia's leading shipbuilding company with a workforce of 5,000 from multiple countries across the globe is worth celebrating. United by shared values and a common vision, Capral and Austal have built a strong and enduring partnership over the past 25 years.

{alcircleadd}Austal's high-quality commercial vessels primarily owe to Capral for its aluminium sheets, complex extrusions, and value addition to the business.
"It's nice to have a supplier where we can share a vision, share values, and build a mutual relationship that benefits both parties," said Brent Carey, head of Supply Chain at Austal Australia.
He also said Capral’s high-quality aluminium materials have made it easier for Austal to manufacture lightweight, high-end commercial vessels. Each vessel, requiring around 50,000 individual components, is completed in only 15 months supported by Austal’s dedicated workforce and Capral’s reliable supply chain.
According to Capral, its relationship with Austal grew stronger over time owing to transparent and prompt communication without compromising production timelines. The sustainability goal is also a common factor that has strengthened the Capral-Austal relationship for over two decades. For instance, Capral's low-carbon aluminium production is absolutely in tune with Austal's commitment to sustainable shipbuilding.
The longstanding partnership between Austal and Capral sets a benchmark for many in the global manufacturing sector, showing what's possible in modern shipbuilding with common goals and visions.
"It's about relationships," said Matt Klingberg, Sales Operations Manager at Austal Australia. "With Capral, we've had a great relationship for a long period, and I expect one that will continue."
