On 1st October 2021, BAGR Berliner Aluminiumwerk GmbH, which is operating a melting and casting plant for secondary aluminium in a traditional industrial area in the north of Berlin since 1997, announces a change in their management board.
Mustafa Güngör, the well-established Managing Director of BAGR will be retiring from the organization on 31st October 2021. The company has appointed Oleg Hoffmann as the new Managing Director commencing from 1st October 2021.
The veteran engineer Mustafa Güngör's professional career is inseparably linked to the history of aluminium production in Berlin. Güngör having already worked as a quality engineer and plant manager under the former operator of the site, after the takeover by BAGR he delivered outstanding services in that same function to realign the plant, optimise the product portfolio, diversify the customer and supplier base, and expand the production capacity.
Since August 2004, the graduate engineer in metallurgy has been responsible for the company's success as its Managing Director. His high level of metallurgical and technical expertise and knowledge of the market made him a formative personality at BAGR, and an important and trustworthy contact for its business partners. Güngör has had a strong and lasting influence on the development of BAGR.
Oleg Hoffmann, a graduate engineer is also a recognised and competent expert in the market for metallurgy and process technology shall succeed Güngör. An active participant in the European aluminium industry for many years and well connected in the industry, Hoffmann has been working as plant manager at BAGR since October 2017. In this function, he has played a decisive role in the technical and personnel development of BAGR and is very familiar with the company and its operating environment.
BAGR stated: “Under Hoffmann's leadership, BAGR will more than rising to the challenges of an economy increasingly focused on sustainability, in which the production of secondary aluminium plays a prominent role.”
