Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), one of India’s most significant aluminium producers and a division of Vedanta Aluminium, has circulated a state-of-the-art technology known as T-Pulse Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Monitoring System, which uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to monitor workplace behaviour and warns against unprecedented on-site accidents.
{alcircleadd}Installing the T-Pulse HSSE Monitoring System is another wise initiative BALCO took to encourage the use of high-end technology, augmenting the firm’s abilities. The system can gauge risk in daily operations through a well-integrated web of cameras, AI sensors, edge devices, and hovering drones. This solution will be critical in providing real-time data on prevailing activities within the workplace.
This system will also be vital in estimating a project and its fallouts, construction, sudden shutdowns or deviations. A centralised system within the T-Pulse will detect any workplace consequence.
It is a 360° complete solution that oversees and interferes with all the active protocols within the facility like Traffic Interference & Vehicle Safety, Personal Protective Equipment usage, Job Safety/Hazard Communication, Work at Height, Dropped Objects, Confined Space, as well as Lifting & Hoisting. The T-Pulse system will register all the available data in real-time, giving logical inference to the workers for advanced safety and working conditions.
While elaborating on the affair, the Director and CEO of BALCO, Rajesh Kumar stated: “At BALCO, we believe in continuously augmenting our operations and processes to bolster our safety performance and ensure that our workplaces are safe and primed for innovation & business excellence. With the launch of the T-Pulse HSSE Monitoring tool, we have taken a significant step towards achieving our goal of ‘Zero Harm, Zero Waste and Zero Discharge’. This comprehensive safety system closely aligns with our guiding priorities of ensuring workforce safety while leveraging digitalisation & innovation for operational excellence. With more such deployments planned in the near term, we aim to nurture a safer, encouraging and productive environment for everyone working with us, today and always.”
BALCO, time and again, has established its name in the aluminium industry as a forward thinker, and the company has been venerated with the ‘Manufacturing Today – Reinventing the Future’ Award for its contributions to the sector. BALCO was also crowned the ‘Platinum Winner’ at the 5th CII National Safety Practices Competition for its safety digitalisation programme ‘Suraksha Sankalp Kutumbh’.
