Ball expanding into new categories
Ball is expanding into new categories and enhancing its reuse and refillable bottle innovations for a wider range of customers and applications. The acquisition of Alucan will introduce large-diameter aerosol cans and impact-extruded bottle capabilities, strengthening Ball’s support for its existing reusable bottle customers. This acquisition enables Ball to diversify its customer base, create cross-selling opportunities with food and beverage manufacturers, and broaden its bottle offerings to include personal and home care products.
The acquisition also strengthens Ball’s commitment to innovation and carbon footprint reduction. The company plans to lightweight Alucan’s cans and increase their recycled content. Being closer to its customers will help optimise truck capacity, effectively reducing CO2 emissions and moving closer to sustainability. Acquiring Alucan marks a significant step forward for Ball Corporation as it seeks to better serve the expanding European market for aerosol and impact-extruded bottles.
