On September 20, it was declared that Ball Corporation would unify with Boomerang Water LLC, a sustainable water bottling technology provider that helps reduce the application of single-use plastic bottles. After the conglomeration, Ball would be completely responsible for supplying the aluminium bottles for Boomerang's patented machines that collect, sanitise, refill and cap glass or aluminium bottles with fresh water to be sold on the retail market.
{alcircleadd}Ball aluminium bottles would be available sporting Boomerang technology at cruise ships, campuses and resorts, in a way generating lesser environmental residues than the use of single-use plastic bottles may cause. Boomerang has an amazing mono-machining technology that can accept empty aluminium and glass bottles, eventually washing, sanitising and refilling them with premium fresh water. The capping method is also very unique as it resembles a payphone portal, where you put coins; only here, one has to drop bottle caps for pressure packaging.
Aluminium is infinitely recyclable and can retain its original properties even after going through the entire process. Therefore, bottles made of aluminium can be sent for recycling every time it journeys back to the vendor, creating a closed loop or circular economy. These bottles are far better than the conventional plastic ones since they do not have any intention of ending up in landfills unless casual owners toss them away.
Somewhere the name Boomerang also suggests the return of the bottles since it is the name of an ancient device used by the aboriginals of Australia for hunting. A boomerang would usually be thrown by a hunter to cause blunt trauma to a prey at sight, while the tool would come back flying to the user.
Once the Boomerang Bottling System or BBS starts using Ball aluminium bottles to pack premium filter water, the carbon emission and waste generated by the use of disposable bottles will be marginally reduced. BBS can provide on-site, integrated, micro-bottle refilling solutions making it quite feasible for the environment.
The veteran founder of Boomerang Water LLC, Jason Dibble, exclaimed with mirth: "Boomerang is delivering industry-leading innovation with its bottling system that can wash, fill and cap more than 3,000 bottles of fresh, premium water per eight-hour shift. The whole idea and concept is the reusability and circularity of the aluminium bottles paired with a Boomerang system."
"Ball's aluminium bottles are the perfect complement for our Boomerang Bottling System since they can get re-used over and over and ultimately recycled easily at the end of their life," he added.
Ball Corporation has been supplying sustainable aluminium solutions to the U.S. market for the better part of the century and, with this partnership, hopes to induce a circular economy where returned bottles would be turned into fresh new ones by Boomerang Water in sixty days.
President of Ball Aerosol Packaging, Jay Billings, illustrated the company's discourse: "At Ball, our ambition is to never stop leveraging our years of beverage packaging expertise to deliver new, innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers."
"We aim to be a strategic supplier to innovators, like Boomerang, that is finding new ways to bring consumers and businesses sustainable options and make a difference for the planet. We look forward to sharing more on the impact of our alliance," he concluded.
The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai houses the BBS running smoothly enough, and the resort is not new to Ball's aluminium water bottles as well. This system is technically applicable in closed circles like resorts, cruises, military bases, convention centers, sports grounds, government houses and campuses, where bottles can be safely returned for revival.
Current research testifies that 85 per cent of the consumers have become environmentally conscious and prefer sustainable products over harmful residual ones. This alliance between Ball and Boomerang will definitely make a consumer confident enough to acquire recyclable aluminium bottles in place of single-use plastic bottles.
