Bauxite miner Pankaj Oswal invests a fortune in world's most expensive house

Pankaj Oswal, an Indian business magnate, and his wife, Radhika, have recently acquired one of the most expensive homes in the world, Villa Vari, named after their daughters Vasundhra and Ridi. Oswal Group's leader, the bauxite mining and petrochemicals conglomerate, has spent almost $200 million or INR 1,649 crore for the house.

The Oswal Group Global is a highly distinguished and reputable business conjunction with extensive interests in various industries worldwide. Their areas of expertise encompass petrochemicals, real estate, fertilisers, and mining, among others. Their operations span across multiple continents, including Africa, India, Australia, and Switzerland.

The group's impressive portfolio comprises several enterprises, including PRO Industries PTE LTD, a renowned African ethanol producer. Additionally, Axis Minerals, another subsidiary of the group, is renowned for its significant bauxite mine, which boasts up to 844 million tonnes of reserves. HOWE Engineering India Pvt Ltd designed the stockpile, jetty, and conveyor belt for the ore handling system and evaluated transportation options from Koniokhoure to the Baralande stockpile, including cable car and road transport for Axis' sites. The group's diverse interests also extend to Burrup Fertilizers, a top-rated Australian company and one of the world's leading producers of liquid ammonia.

The Oswals' net worth is estimated at $3 billion or INR 247,000 crore approx., and the stunning property is located in the Canton of Vaud in the Swiss village of Gingins and is worth a whopping $200 million or INR 1,649 crore approximately, as per a reputed newspaper organisation. Spread across 40,000 square meters and overlooking Mt Blanc, it is among the top 10 expensive homes globally.

The couple has two daughters, Vasundhara and Ridi, who are both pursuing their careers. Vasundhara serves as the Executive Director of PRO Industries PTE LTD and Director General at Axis Minerals, while Ridi is currently studying chemical engineering at a university in London. The Oswals have always kept their personal lives private and relocated from Australia to Switzerland in 2013, where they now reside in Villa Vari, recognised as one of the world's most expensive homes.
