The economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has a transitional with limited market reforms. It is heavily dependent on the export of metals, energy, textiles, and furniture as well as on remittances and foreign aid. However, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) stated in June that it predicts Bosnia and Herzegovina's gross domestic product (GDP) to rise by 3.5% in 2021 before the growth slows down to 3% in 2022.
The nation on the Balkan Peninsula in South-Eastern Europe, Bosnia and Herzegovina exported 50,116 tonnes of aluminium bar rods and profiles during 2018-20 and the revenue generated from the export counted to $143.62 million.
In 2018, Bosnia and Herzegovina exported 6628 tonnes of aluminium bar rods and profiles and the earnings accounted from the export was $21.72 million, whereas, in 2019, the export illustrated a growth of 252.50%, as the export volume surged to 23,364 tonnes and the earnings also grew to $70.78 million.
Bosnia and Herzegovina export of aluminium bar rods and profiles in 2020 demonstrated de-growth by 13.86%, as the export volume plunged to 20,124 tonnes and the earnings also slashed to $51.12 million.
The export for 2021 is analysed with an upswing of 25%, as the export volume is expected to climb at 12,155 tonnes and the earnings to remain at $61.48 million.
The major trading destinations for Bosnia and Herzegovina export of aluminium bar rods and profiles are Austria, Belgium, Czech Rep., Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Italy, Netherlands, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, Switzerland, etc.
