BrewDog, a multinational brewery and pub chain based in Scotland, is reintroducing their ‘Fifty Fifty’ canned beverage in 330ml aluminium cans. This was initially launched in 2020. It claims to be the #1 Craft Brewer in Europe, with a production capacity of over 800,000 hectolitres. James Watt and Martin Dickie, who hold 46% of the firm, launched it in 2007.
“Summer is coming back, and so is Fifty Fifty. Grab your shorts. Blow up the paddling pool. Brace yourself for wasps. Shandy season is here. A crisp pilsner malt base gives way to a zesty sherbet kick for a sharp and refreshing summer shandy,” said BrewDog.
Global aluminium use in packaging applications was predicted to be 14.7 million tonnes in 2022, expected to reach 15.2 million tonnes by 2023, a 3.3 per cent increase. Beverage cans, packaging foil, and pharmaceutical packaging uses drove aluminium demand in this area.
“Coming in at a bright and breezy 2.4%, Fifty Fifty is sessionable and light and equally perfect for long hot afternoons in the sun and standing attentively under an umbrella at the barbecue. Grab the cans online. Have it on draft in our bars. Drink in the sunshine,” added the company.
As per AL Circle’s Outlook report, globally, the usage of aluminium beverage cans had climbed from 343 billion units in 2015 to 416 billion units in 2020. The worldwide output of aluminium beverage cans is expected to reach 627 billion units by 2030.
