Capral Aluminium, the largest manufacturer of extruded aluminium and distributor of aluminium products in Australia, has recently kick-started its zero-emissions delivery program through its freight partner, Goldstar Transport.
The first Fuso eCanter deliveries were made to Bull Motor Bodies, a local customer of Capral Aluminium. The company has just launched a lower-carbon primary aluminium option, LocAL, which is now available across its locally manufactured extruded aluminium products.
{alcircleadd}Capral Aluminium's Industrial Solutions State Manager for Western Australia, Nigel Williamson, expressed his pleasure in starting zero-emissions deliveries with the Bull Motor Bodies order.
Nigel exclaimed: "Sustainability is very much at the forefront at Bull Motor Bodies."
"A part of the tendering process for large corporate fleets around Australia is that fact that we are working towards net zero as an organisation, so it is important to have things like this as part of our supply chain," he added.
Goldstar Transport, which employs 400 people and has a fleet of more than 150 trucks, welcomed its first eCanter to its fleet in late 2020 and is preparing to add large electric trucks to its fleet in the near future.
"It is important for the environment. It is in line with our Capral initiative to reduce emissions, and it represents a positive step forward," he insisted.
Nigel confirmed: "Goldstar Transport is really excited to have the zero-emission Fuso eCanter as part of the fleet and work with companies like Capral who really want to make a difference."
Bull Motor Bodies' General Manager, Simon Rawnsley, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to receive Capral Aluminium products delivered by an electric truck.
"We are committed to lead when it comes to zero-emission transport and are working towards introducing larger zero-emission trucks with our partners at Daimler Trucks, who share our vision," Rawnsley said.
