Capri Sun Group has unveiled a course-altering addition to its beverage packaging lineup, introducing recyclable pouches crafted from a blend of aluminium, PE, and PET materials. This innovation marks a pivotal moment in Capri Sun's sustainability journey, as it seeks to revolutionise its packaging while reducing its environmental footprint.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, Capri Sun aims to transition its entire drinks range to fully recyclable packaging. The introduction of these innovative pouches is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 25%, surpassing the environmental benefits of traditional PET bottles.
The CEO of Capri Sun Group, Roland Weening, stated: “Our new recyclable pouches will offer consumers the same convenience they know and love, but with a significantly lower CO2 footprint than any other common beverage packaging.”
“It forms part of our broader commitment to reducing our impact on the environment. We will continue to push our waste and energy reduction programme, and we continue to wholeheartedly support the implementation of a circular economy across the whole of our industry,” he added.
Expanding reach and impact
Capri Sun's recyclable pouches will initially be available in two popular flavors: Orange and Blackcurrant & Apple. The brand also plans to introduce a range of 330ml pouches with a re-closable, tethered cap, further enhancing convenience while reducing packaging waste by 14%.
