Consumer Convenience Technologies (CCT) reported that the new aluminium lug jar lid of CCT’s EEASY Lid will be displayed to the European markets at the PLMA’s annual "World of Private Label" international trade show in Amsterdam on May 31-June 1.
{alcircleadd}CCT’s unique EEASY Lid can be opened easily by pushing a button on the lid, which means that the torque needed to twist off a jar lid is decreased by more than 58 per cent for the classic lug lids and by 40 per cent for ordinary continuous thread (CT) lids. CCT announced that it will be making the world's first aluminium lig lid, which further will be available in both lug and CT variants, both of which will made using aluminium.
“By raising awareness of the EEASY Lid at PLMA, we will have the opportunity to show that consumers are willing to purchase products that are easier to use on an everyday basis. We have seen the consumer demand for a jar lid that is easier to open, and we have spent eight years of R&D to create the EEASY Lid with accessibility in mind. This is a win for companies looking to meet consumer needs and a win for consumers to open a jar lid with ease,” said Brandon Bach, CCT president.
CCT opened a new 12,000 square foot state-of-the-art technology facility at its Dayton, Ohio headquarters last year. CCT can create around 800 aluminium lug EEASY Lids each minute, or more over 250 million per year. CCT is already in discussions with major supermarkets, brands, and manufacturers throughout the world, with the goal of making the EEASY Lid available to customers in late 2022.
Boyer's Food Markets, located in Pennsylvania, began using the CT version of the EEASY Lid on their Darci's brand pasta sauce in all of its 18 locations in 2020. CCT stated that the initial usage of the EEASY Lid increased pasta sauce sales by over 300 per cent during a three-month case study.
“With years of experience in the food and retail industries, we immediately recognized the value of the EEASY Lid for brands and consumers. Beyond accessibility that we desperately need in packaging, the aluminum lug version of the EEASY Lid is more sustainable than traditional steel alternatives. With European markets holding sustainability to a high standard, the EEASY Lid checks all the boxes for packaging innovation,” said Friedrich Berlemann, CEO of Trade Consult.
CCT has partnered with Trade Consult, a sales and marketing firm specialising in the grocery industry and food manufacturers based in Germany, to secure interest and schedule meetings with national brands and private label companies, as well as coordinate the overall implementation of the EEASY Lid into the European marketplace.
