China Hongqiao welcomes SMB-Winning Consortium staff for comprehensive study tour

On June 15th, over 30 employees from the SMB-Winning Consortium in Guinea embarked on an extensive study and exchange program at China Hongqiao Group.

The visit began with a heartfelt welcome from Guo Cuihua, the Director of Human Resources at China Hongqiao. She warmly conveyed the significance of the delegation's presence, likening it to a homecoming. Guo emphasised the robust partnership between the two organisations and expressed optimism about the potential for increased collaboration and mutual development.

SMB Winning Consortium is an alliance of four global partners led by Singapore’s Winning International Group. It comprises the Hongqiao Group under China’s Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group, Guinea’s UMS, and China’s Yantai Port Group.

The HR Director encouraged the Guinean participants to absorb valuable insights during their time in China, intending to foster economic growth upon their return to Guinea. The exchange program underscores the commitment of both China Hongqiao and the SMB-Winning Consortium to driving progress and strengthening ties between their nations.

The Ore Business Department shared valuable insights into Hongqiao’s corporate evolution and unique culture, highlighting the crucial role of the SMB-Winning Consortium. Complemented by informative videos, engaging sessions offered a glimpse into the company’s transformative journey.

After the discussions, the delegation toured the Zhang Shipping Memorial Hall, corporate exhibition halls, alumina production facilities, and the lightweight base. The visit underscored the strengthening collaboration within the SMB-Winning Consortium, reaffirming China Hongqiao's commitment to global cooperation and sustainable development.

In 2023, Guinea emerged as the world's largest producer of bauxite, reaching a record production of nearly 123- 26 million tonnes and bolstering its influence in the mining sector. This achievement was significantly driven by the SMB-Winning Consortium, which established itself as the country's leading producer and exporter of bauxite.
