On August 23, China’s A00 aluminium ingot price gained RMB 170 per tonne to close at RMB 18,860 per tonne, with the average prices expected to range between RMB 18,840 per tonne and RMB 18,880 per tonne. The spot contract price may be traded at a premium price of RMB 130 to RMB 170 per tonne.
The domestic aluminium ingot price has grown in all the provinces, with the highest in Wuxi, where it has surged by RMB 180 per tonne to settle at RMB 18,880 per tonne, followed by a hike of RMB 170 per tonne in Hangzhou and Linyi to reside at RMB 18,860 per tonne. On the same day, the price in Foshan has ascended by RMB 150 per tonne to clock at RMB 18,750 per tonne. As per the data shared by the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM), both Gongyi and Shenyang have experienced an increase of RMB 140 per tonne to peg at RMB 18,750 per tonne and RMB 18,760 per tonne. The A00 aluminium ingot prices in Tianjin and Chongqing have spiked up by RMB 120 per tonne and RMB 90 per tonne to close at RMB 18,810 per tonne and RMB 18,670 per tonne.
The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has shot up by RMB 204 per tonne to halt at RMB 19,506 per tonne. However, M-o-M, a surge of RMB 466 per tonne, has been witnessed from RMB 19,040 per tonne recorded on July 24.
The price of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) has hiked by RMB 200 per tonne to settle at RMB 26,400 per tonne and RMB 27,400 per tonne. The price of aluminium powder has also inched up by RMB 0.2 per kg to come in at RMB 20.8 per kg, with the average prices standing between RMB 20.7 per kg and RMB 20.9 per kg.
As per the SMM data, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has surged by RMB 200 per tonne to close at RMB 19,500 per tonne, with the average prices standing between RMB 19,300 per tonne and RMB 19,700 per tonne. On the same day, both aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloys (A380) have grown by RMB 100 per tonne to a halt at RMB 19,200 per tonne and RMB 20,200 per tonne. The average prices for (ADC12) may range between RMB 19,100 per tonne and RMB 19,300 per tonne, and for (A380) the average prices may stand between RMB 20,100 per tonne and RMB 20,300 per tonne.
