China’s alumina price expands by 22.55% M-o-M, arriving at RMB5646/t; A00 aluminium ingot price adds RMB10/t

According to the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) analysis, the average alumina spot price has hiked by RMB 24 per tonne to settle at RMB 5,646 per tonne. W-o-W, the price has grown by RMB 156 per tonne or 2.84 per cent, and M-o-M the alumina price has shown a surge of RMB 1,039 per tonne or 22.55 per cent.

Alumina price region-wise

The alumina prices have grown in all the provinces, with the highest in Lianyungang and Bayuquan, where it has heightened by RMB 50 per tonne to clock at RMB 6,000 per tonne. In other regions like Henan, Shanxi, Guizhou and Guangxi, the prices have added RMB 25 per tonne to settle at RMB 5,650 per tonne, RMB 5,700 per tonne and RMB 5,600 per tonne (for both Guizhou and Guangxi). In Shandong the alumina price has increased by RMB 20 per tonne to halt at RMB 5,625 per tonne.

A00 aluminium ingot

On the same day, the A00 aluminium ingot price has ascended by RMB 10 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,520 per tonne, with the spot contract price expected to be traded at a premium price of RMB 40 to RMB 80 per tonne. The average prices may orbit between RMB 20,500 per tonne and RMB 20,540 per tonne.

The A00 aluminium ingot prices have shown mixed reactions today. In some regions the prices have remained unchanged, in some regions it has grown whereas in some the price has decreased. In Linyi, Wuxi and Hangzhou, the prices have grown by RMB 30 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne (Wuxi and Hangzhou) to dock at RMB 20,570 per tonne and RMB 20,540 per tonne (Wuxi and Hangzhou).In Gongyi, the price has expanded by RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 20,490 per tonne.

On the same day, the price in Tianjin dropped by RMB 40 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,570 per tonne. For the same day, in regions like Foshan, Chongqing and Shenyang, the prices have remained unchanged at RMB 20,430 per tonne, RMB 20,500 per tonne and RMB 20,560 per tonne.

Other prices

The high purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high purity aluminium (99.996%) price has shown no change to settle at RMB 27,500 per tonne and RMB 28,500 per tonne. The Australian alumina FOB price has ascended by US$30 per tonne, settling at US$760 per tonne.
