Global automotive aluminium alloy wheel market grew year on year with an average sales growth rate of 4.2 per cent. The industry is expected to increase at a high growth rate in the next few years.

{alcircleadd}According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the country exported 727,800 tonnes of automotive aluminium alloy wheels during January-September 2018, an increase of 5.8 per cent YoY, compared to 687901tonnes during January-September 2017.
China’s CITIC DICASTAL manufactures aluminium alloy wheel and chassis components for the automobile industry. The company provides casting, forging, and spinning services for wheels. Last year, Qinhuangdao SINOLION Investment Holdings and CITIC Dicastal had started operations of their co-invested aluminium alloy wheel hub project in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province. Aluminium alloy wheel hub project has a production capacity of 3 million pieces per year.
China’s aluminium alloy wheel export value increased 10.9 per cent year on year. The value of export stood at US$3.5 billion in the first nine months of this year, compared to 3.1 billion in the first nine months of 2017. Export prices averaged US$4.83/kg during the mentioned period.
These products were supplied to164 countries, with the top 40 countries accounting for 97.8 per cent of the overall value of exports during January-September, reports SMM.

In September 2018, China's export of aluminium alloy auto wheels grew 4.5 per cent from a year ago to 86,100 tonnes. The value of export rose 13.2 per cent YoY to US$411 million in September 2018, according to CAAM data. Export prices averaged US$4.77/kg.
