On January 31, today, the SMM A00 aluminium ingot price in China has lowered by RMB 40 per tonne to close at RMB 18,970 per tonne, with the average prices hovering between RMB 18,950 per tonne and RMB 18,990 per tonne.
On January 24, last week, the SMM aluminium price was RMB 18,980 per tonne, which has fallen by RMB 10 per tonne or 0.05 per cent Week-on-Week to halt at what it is today.
China’s SMM A00 aluminium market trend in January
If we consider the SMM aluminium price on December 29, we’ll find a Month-on-Month slump of RMB 600 per tonne or 3.06 per cent from RMB 19,570 per tonne recorded that day. Throughout the first month of 2024, China’s aluminium market flashed a declining trend, with the highest SMM aluminium price marked at RMB 19,480 per tonne on January 2.
The low carbon aluminium price in China has dropped RMB 48 per tonne to clock at RMB 19,695 per tonne.
The average alumina spot price in China has risen by RMB 3 per tonne to anchor at RMB 3,354 per tonne, while the alumina spot price in Shandong has gained RMB 15 per tonne to officially close at RMB 3,275 per tonne.
Eight major provinces in China – Aluminium prices
China’s eight central provinces have all seen de-escalating aluminium ingot price trends today, with the highest plunge recorded in Linyi by RMB 90 per tonne to rest at RMB 18,920 per tonne. In Gongyi, the aluminium price has discarded RMB 60 per tonne, closing at RMB 18,790 per tonne, followed by RMB 50 per tonne loss in Hangzhou, where it has been priced at RMB 18,960 per tonne. The aluminium prices in Wuxi, Chongqing and Shenyang have uniformly negated RMB 40 per tonne, with the first two officiating at RMB 18,950 per tonne and the latter at RMB 18,990 per tonne. In Foshan, the aluminium price has dived down by RMB 30 per tonne to finally close at RMB 18,970 per tonne. Only in Tianjin has there been no notable change, as the aluminium price stood at RMB 18,990 per tonne.
The price of aluminium alloy (A356) and aluminium alloy (A360) have both lost RMB 50 per tonne to stop at RMB 19,600 per tonne and RMB 19,850 per tonne, respectively.
