Constellium SE, a global leader in the manufacturing and recycling of aluminium products and solutions, and g.pivaudran, a designer and manufacturer of aluminium parts intended for packaging in the Beauty and Spirits sectors, have collaborated on a new packaging project for Chanel Fragrance & Beauty.
As per the report, Constellium will provide recycled aluminium solutions to Chanel for the packaging of its new line of mascara, “Le Volume”, which will be designed and manufactured by luxury packaging specialist g.pivaudran. The mascara packaging will incorporate 10 to 20 per cent post-consumer recycled (PCR) metal, depending on the model.
Constellium and luxury packaging specialist g.pivaudran have been in partnership for various projects since 2018. They worked together to ensure the maintenance of aesthetics following anodisation and stability of raw material featuring recycled content.
Constellium’s rolling mill in Singen, Germany, produces highly specialised aluminium surfaces ideal for the cosmetics industry. The facility has developed special alloys with uniform conversion properties in a bid to meet the challenge of combining high-lustre finishes with optimal deep-drawing characteristics in metal.
On this new project with g.pivaudran and Chanel Fragrance & Beauty, Patrick Broom, Director of Sales & Marketing Specialties at Constellium, commented: “We are very proud of this major accomplishment, which supports the growing trend towards eco-friendly solutions in the beauty industry. We would like to thank Chanel for paving the way towards more eco-friendly solutions in the beauty industry. We are proud to partner with them and with g.pivaudran to advance sustainable luxury cosmetic packaging solutions.”
