European wheel maker Cromodora Wheels has selected Hydro REDUXA low-carbon aluminium to lower carbon footprint.
Cromodora Wheels, a key player in the aluminium wheel industry, provides to the main premium car makers in Europe; AMG-Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, FCA, Maserati, JLR, Porsche, Seat, Skoda and VW. The company will use Hydro REDUXA a significant part of their aluminium supply for wheel production.
{alcircleadd}“Cromodora Wheels is one of the most sought-after wheel producers in Europe, with a clear sustainability agenda. We are pleased to offer climate-conscious customers, such as Cromodora Wheels, a low-carbon option while increasing our foothold in the car manufacturing industry. This is a true testament to Hydro REDUXA low-carbon aluminium,” said Francine Martin, Sales Director in Hydro.
Hydro produced Hydro REDUXA at its Norwegian primary aluminium production sites in Sunndal and Årdal, where production is based entirely on renewable hydropower.
Hydro REDUXA has a certified maximum carbon footprint of 4.0 kg CO2e/kg aluminium. This is less than a quarter of the global average and includes the entire value chain of aluminium from raw material to finished product including transport (smelter scope 1,2,3).
“European car makers are continuously working to lower emissions, and we must do our part to help them achieve their ambitions. Aluminium wheels make cars lighter, which in return lowers fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. If the wheels are produced with low-carbon aluminium, that makes a good footprint even better – and why we chose Hydro REDUXA,” said Marco Dallera, Sales Director in Cromodora Wheels.
