On Friday, September 24, Crown Holdings Inc. said that it selected a location in Mesquite, Nevada, for its upcoming Southwestern United States aluminium beverage can manufacturing facility. Located in the Mesquite Technology and Commerce Center, the facility will supply standard and speciality beverage cans to the customers serving a variety of categories like carbonated soft drinks, sparkling water, energy drinks, hard seltzers, beer and ready-to-drink cocktails.
Crown Holdings expects this facility to support the growth of new beverage introductions in aluminium cans besides improving the company’s ability to serve existing customers in the Western United States.
According to Timothy J. Donahue, President and Chief Executive Officer, "This investment, underpinned by long-term customer contracts, continues to demonstrate Crown's commitment to meet the increased demand for aluminum beverage cans."
Timothy said, "Consumers continue to seek beverage options predominantly in cans and are increasingly aware of the sustainability benefits of the aluminum can. On behalf of Crown, I would like to thank our many partners for their coordinated efforts in this initiative, including the Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development, Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance, Mesquite City Public Works and Development Services, and Cody Law and Colton Teerlink of Citywide Consultants who served as advisors to the City of Mesquite, Nevada."
The 355,000 square foot facility is likely to begin operations in the second quarter of 2023, creating 126 new jobs.
