Aluminium Stewardship Initiative has recognised Crown Holdings, Inc.’s two beverage cans manufacturing facilities in Nong Khae District, Thailand, with Performance Standard V2 (2017) Certifications. Crown Bevcan and Closures (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Crown TCP Beverage Cans Company Limited have received certifications for manufacturing aluminium cans for the food and beverage packaging industry.
{alcircleadd}Crown Bevcan and Closures has a production capacity of 1.2 billion units per year, and Crown TCP has an output capacity of 820 million units annually.
Crown’s operations in Brazil and Mexico also achieved Performance Standard Certifications earlier.
The independent, third-party audit of the Crown Holdings, Inc. facilities were done by LiberoAssurance. The audit occurred before May 31, 2023; therefore, the facilities received ASI Performance Standard V2 Certifications.
The ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) sets out 59 criteria under three sustainability pillars of Environment, Social, and Governance, addressing key issues like biodiversity, labour rights, Indigenous People's rights, and greenhouse gas emissions.
