CRU Group, Aluminium Stewardship Initiative's (ASI) data transparency partner, has updated its Emissions Analysis Tool with a new rolling mill emissions dataset. The inclusion of this data, when paired with the current ASI Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Standard certification levels, allows tool users to better examine and acquire insights into their customers', suppliers', partners', and products' emissions profiles.
For Bauxite mines, Alumina refineries, and Aluminium smelters, CRU's Emissions Analysis Tool provides data for 100 percent of worldwide output, and for Rolling Mills, 90 percent or more. Product level emissions data for building sheet, bright sheet, brazing sheet, plate, 1xxx, 3xxx, 5xxx, auto body, auto structural, foil stock, and can stock are included in the new rolling mill data.
Investors and legislators, as well as purchasers and industrial users of aluminium, are increasingly seeking access to asset-level data on current emissions performance in order to identify future decarbonisation potential. They also seek confidence that the assets of interest are addressing broader environmental, social, and governance problems, which ASI Certification provides to the 35 percent of all rolling mills that have been certified to the ASI Performance Standard.
The Emissions Analysis Tool and ASI's continued relationship with CRU Group have enabled this combination of data and sustainability performance metrics.
