The VP of Consumer Relations at Bogle Family Wine Collection, Jody Bogle, proudly stated: "Element[AL] is more than just the launch of a new wine brand; it's the beginning of a new way of thinking for the wine industry. We began by looking for ways to lightweight our existing glass bottles, leading to a more radical approach that we feel consumers are ready to embrace."

The chronology of Element[AL] 100% recyclable aluminium wine bottles

Embarking on an ecological journey, Element[AL] responds to the wine industry's imperative to reconsider the environmental impact of glass bottles, a significant contributor to the carbon footprint. The Element[AL] portfolio, set to debut in January 2024, showcases four varietals—Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Rosé, and Pinot Noir—cultivated in sustainable vineyards across California's premier growing regions.

Three years of meticulous research and development have birthed Element[AL], a pioneer in the market, introducing an aluminium wine bottle technology that seamlessly merges the allure of traditional glass bottles with an unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility. The label-less, 360° deco design, adorned with bespoke hand-drawn artwork unique to each varietal, transforms each bottle into a giftable masterpiece.

Element[AL] dispels any apprehension about a taste compromise, as internal research confirms no perceptible difference in taste between wines aged for a year in glass versus aluminium bottles. This revelation stems from a blind taste test, cementing Element[AL] 's dedication to ensuring the essence of the wine remains untainted by the shift in packaging.

Why is aluminium the best choice for sustainable packaging solutions?

  • Reducing Carbon Footprint

Glass, a major contributor to the wine industry's carbon footprint, prompts a crucial rethink for everyday enjoyment. Element[AL] 's aluminium wine bottles emerge as a sustainable solution, aligning with contemporary needs.

  • Recyclability Reigns

Element[AL] champions recyclability, offering an aluminium alternative that transcends glass limitations. Aluminium is infinitely recyclable and has better recycling rates than glass, making it a valuable asset to municipal programs. Its regeneration demands a mere 5% of the initial energy, contributing to a circular economy.

  • Lightweight Marvel

In the dance of logistics, Element[AL] 's lightweight design steals the show. 80% lighter than their glass counterparts, these aluminium bottles save 11,500 lbs per truckload—equivalent to an African elephant's weight. Accommodating 43% more cases, they redefine efficiency, sustaining the material loop.

  • Compact and Shatterproof

Element[AL] bottles, with thinner walls and no punt, not only hold the standard 750mL but also offer a space-saving delight. Beyond aesthetics, their shatterproof nature opens doors to diverse settings, from beaches to stadiums, embodying the essence of versatility.

Release date and other notable specifications

Scheduled for national release in March 2024, Element[AL] Wines will debut as the official wine of the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, amplifying its exposure. The wine will also grace select international markets throughout the year. This initiative not only applauds the exquisite design of Element[AL] but also celebrates the environmentally conscious ethos embedded in the Bogle Family Wine Collection.

The Vice President of Marketing at Bogle Family Wine Collection, Paul Englert, specified: "We've been developing Element[AL] for over three years. We were committed to finding a way to dramatically reduce the carbon footprint of traditional wine bottles in a manner that still connected with consumers. Our comprehensive research indicates exceptionally high consumer purchase interest for this game-changing aluminium wine bottle."

Element[AL] Wines sets a new standard in the wine industry, not only for its exquisite taste but for its bold commitment to sustainability. The incorporation of infinitely recyclable aluminium bottles showcases a commendable dedication to reducing environmental impact, marking a significant step forward in responsible packaging solutions for the future.
