ELLWOOD Aluminum, a manufacturer of aluminium ingot and billet, rectangular slab, and cast plate, has announced the completion of its Hubbard plant. The work on 12,000-square-foot casting plant started in 2018 to increase the company’s production capabilities.
{alcircleadd}ELLWOOD Aluminum has invested $60 million in the plant. The facility has vertical direct chill casting machinery and can manufacture aluminium ingots up to 360 inches.
ELLWOOD Aluminum’s president, Patrick Callihan said, “Completing our Hubbard facilty construction with no injuries is an accomplishment that we are incredibly grateful. We owe this achievement to our knowledgeable and safety conscious team of employees and contractors that allowed for this project to happen seamlessly.”
ELLWOOD Aluminum has a dedicated melting and holding furnaces, a casting pit capable of casting product to a length of 360 inches, and two 40-ton cranes. The company’s facility has the capability to cast 2,000-, 5,000-, 6,000- and 7,000-series alloys.
The company in February manufactured the largest cross section sized aluminium slab ever produced in North America. They cast an aluminium slab that weighed over 95,000 lbs which will be used for injection mold dies.
