Elval, the aluminium rolling division of ElvalHalcor S.A. has reportedly purchased SMS group’s Viridis Energy & Sustainability Suite to install in its flat-rolled aluminium manufacturing plant in Oinofyta, Greece.
Viridis Energy & Sustainability Suite is an integrated solution for energy, resources, and sustainability management, which effectively enhances the operational efficiency of an aluminium plant. Similarly, this will benefit Elval, optimising the plant’s overall production process while reducing carbon emissions.
Elval and SMS share a common vision of sustainable and responsible industrial practices that bring them together. With the installation of two modules of Viridis Energy & Sustainability Suite – Virdis Performance and Virdis Grids, Elval will be able to practice energy-efficient production in the aluminium industry.
Virdis Performance software tool will enable Elval to precisely understand the impact of different production routes, real-time monitoring of consumption deviations, automatic event generation, and online journal for data logging. All this will help Elval take swift corrective actions when needed for performance improvement.
Viridis Grids, on the other hand, will precisely enable Elval to find out energy consumption based on the production plan via automated machine learning resources. The equipment will also help Elval detect leakage by means of online mass balancing of metres.
ElvalHalcor is one of the leading flat rolled aluminium manufacturers worldwide, having an annual capacity of 450,000 tonnes.
