According to a recent report, the European Union is likely to collaborate with Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC) in May for working together on the management of aluminium waste.
{alcircleadd}JNARDDC, a Central Government Institution, has long been working in research and development of the aluminium sector, and its revolutionary work of aluminium recycling is tremendously appreciated world-wide. It has invented the process of recycling aluminium wastes like red mud, dross and Spent Pot Lining (SPL) to make their best use in construction and other sectors. The unique part is the institution is capable to recycle aluminium waste at an affordable cost.
Impressed with this, the European Union has approached JNARDDC to share its work based on aluminium recycling. What impressed the European Union the most is the affordability.
“We have already sent the details of our work being done to EU and we are looking forward to initiate a major project in this regard,” informed Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, Director, JNARDDC while talking to ‘The Hitavada’.
He also informed, “Dr. Dieter Mutz, Team Leader, EU Resource Efficiency Initiative (REI), India is visiting to JNARDDC in May and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is likely to be signed during his visit.”
United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Saudi Arabia are the top five global aluminium scrap exporters. Of these, three are from the EU. Therefore, cost cutting in recycling and proper waste management will get a positive change in the industry, thinks Dr. Agnihotri.
