Fives is an international engineering group specialising in designing and supplying machines, process equipment, and production lines for the world's largest industrial groups like the aluminium, steel, glass, automotive, aerospace, logistics, cement, and energy sectors. The company inaugurated its workshop in Bahrain, which is expected to help grow the local economy and support its industrial strategy.
Mr Sebastien Gauguier, President of Fives Group's Aluminium Division, gave a speech emphasising the significance of having a workshop locally as it matches Fives Group's aim of being closer to clients in the GCC.
{alcircleadd}The French Ambassador of France in Bahrain, Mr Jerome Cauchard, said, "The inauguration of Fives Services Gulf workshop is a new example of the cooperation between France and Bahrain in the industrial sector. I commend Fives group commitment to a sustainable industry, as well as the remarkable regional presence."
Amin Sultan, the Chief Power Officer (CPO) of Aluminium Bahrain BSC (Alba), was also present during the inauguration. Speaking at the occasion, he emphasised the need to maintain a sustainable aluminium manufacturing process and the relevance of Alba's cooperation with Fives as the company plots its ESG path per the Kingdom's goals of Net Zero Emissions by 2060. Alba is thrilled to have such a solid collaboration with Fives and looks forward to continuing this fruitful partnership.
The workshop was attended by Mr Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Bahrain's Minister of Industry and Commerce, who expressed his appreciation for Fives Services Gulf's investment. Fives has a very big market in the Gulf area, so this workshop will help them cater to the industrial groups' needs. He emphasised that the government is open to all types of investment that contribute to local economic progress and are consistent with the country's industrial plan.
"We are proud to be part of the industrial development in Bahrain and support the Government's efforts to improve the foreign investor experience. This workshop will enable us to provide better quality services to our clients in the region and contribute to the sustainable growth of the industrial sector." The company provides services for the aluminium industry, but also for industries such as steel, cement, and high precision machining from its base in Bahrain," said Fives Services Gulf's CEO, Mr Frederic Gicquel.
Fives Services Gulf employs 134 people throughout the GCC, with 65 per cent of the employees being Bahraini citizens, 12 per cent being women, and 8 different nationalities represented. Furthermore, via its cooperation with Tamkeen and the Fives International Programme, the firm sent 14 Bahraini students overseas for internships in the Fives group enterprises this year.
