According to our report from West Africa, almost all of the unloading operations for two Bedeschi shiploaders and one echopper shipped fully erected from Jebel Ali Port, Dubai to Ghana Takoradi Port have been accomplished. Jebel Ali is a deep port located in Jebel Ali, Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is the world's ninth busiest port, the largest man-made harbour, and the biggest and by far the busiest port in the Middle East.
{alcircleadd}Bedeschi SpA was established in 1908 and is today one of the oldest European companies specialising in the creation of turn-key solutions for bulk handling material, mining, etc.
The machines will soon commence installation and operation, with the machines being pushed into their correct positions.
Specifically, the scope of the project is to provide handling equipment for the export of bauxite and manganese as well as the import of clinker. One shiploader will handle bauxite, while the other one will handle manganese.
Additionally, five conveyor belts covering a total of 3 km were shipped to Takarodi Port as part of the equipment shipment.
Ghana has substantial deposits of bauxite in regions of Ejuanema, Nyinahin, and Kibi, though most of them remain unexploited with mining activities mainly undertaken in Awaso. The country is also the sixth largest producer of manganese in the world as of 2020 data.
