Gränges has forged a strategic, enduring partnership with Scepter, Inc., to provide scrap-based aluminium ingots to its rolling and recycling centres across the United States. Under the terms of the ten-year agreement, Gränges Americas will procure scrap-based aluminium ingots from Scepter, enhancing its production of near-zero aluminium solutions. The estimated carbon emissions intensity of the ingots sourced stands at 0.3 tonnes CO2e/tonne, with Gränges intending to power its production processes through renewable electricity sources. This strategic move will bolster Gränges' ability to offer industry-leading circular and sustainable aluminium solutions to its customers and end-users.

Scepter Inc. is an aluminium recycling and secondary aluminium trading company serving customers for over thirty years.

Patrick Lawlor, the President of Gränges Americas, said, “Gränges is committed to reducing the carbon footprint of our products and helping our customers on their decarbonization journey. This agreement is a significant step towards advancing our sustainability goals and providing low-carbon solutions for our customers.”

“This helps Gränges remain at the forefront in our industry as it enables us to offer closed-loop recycling and circularity partnerships to our customers in the HVAC, speciality packaging, building and construction, and automotive industries.”

Garney Scott, the CEO of Scepter, said, “We are very proud to enter into this long-term agreement with Gränges, a global aluminium company at the cutting edge of sustainability and decarbonization efforts in the industry. It will allow us to expand on our vision, leverage our resources, and deliver the highest quality low-carbon ingots. We look forward to future growth with Gränges in the US.”
