Dutch shipbuilding company Heesen Yachts has recently unveiled 49.8-metre long luxury yacht Boreas at its own shipyard in Oss. The vessel, based on the Nova Plus platform, is comprised of an aluminium fast displacement hull developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects and an aluminium superstructure.
{alcircleadd}Boreas has an accommodation capacity for 12 guests split between six staterooms, including a main deck owner’s suite and five further guest cabins below decks, and has crew quarters for up to 9 staffs.
Boreas will remain at the yard for commissioning before departing to Hellevoetsluis for sea trials. She will be delivered to her owner next month. According to the report, the owner worked closely with Mark Whiteley Design to create a contemporary and inviting interior. RH400 and Aquarius by Royal Huisman, My Star by Alloy Yachts, Grit by Vitters, and Mini Y by Baltic are some of the other yachts designed by Mark Whiteley.
The exterior of the yacht, designed by Omega Architects, inherits a striking profile from her predecessor Home, featuring metallic grey finish.
Key features include an upper deck helm station, which will allow the owner to skipper the yacht himself whilst enjoying the sunshine, opening windows in the skylounge, and smaller superstructure overhangs above the aft terraces, meaning more natural light will flow into the interior. Glass panels with integrated blinds have also been incorporated in the sundeck hardtop.
Power of the vessel comes from a pair of of MTU 12V2000 M72 engines for a top speed of just under 20 knots.
