Huawei has started delivering the first batch of its AITO M5 e-vehicles (electric vehicles) to the customer who had requested the vehicle shortly after its availability. The dimensions of the new automobile are 4770 x 1930 x 1625mm, with a wheelbase of 2880mm. A range-extension version and a pure electric edition are available, all with an all-aluminium alloy chassis, front double wishbone, and rear multi-link independent suspension.

Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Suzhou, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, Dongguan, Changsha, Xi'an, Wuhan, Ningbo, and Jinan are among the 15 cities slated for commercial usage in Q3. Huawei ADS 2.0 high-end intelligent driving technology and HarmonyOS innovative cockpit 3.0 are standard in the AITO M5 smart driving edition.
As per AL Circle's Outlook report, aluminium usage in the transportation sector stood at 25.9 million tonnes in 2022. The demand is likely to reach 26.3 million tonnes in 2023. Passenger cars are the largest user segment of aluminium amongst other transport sectors. With the benefits of aluminium being fully realised, aluminium usage in passenger cars is likely to increase at a healthy pace as the sales of new cars pick up the pace.
