Hydro has released sustainability report for its operations in Brazil in 2019. The report gives information regarding 2019 and some of the main milestones through August 2020.
The report covers the company’s strategy and the main challenges and results in environmental and social issues of its businesses in the country.
{alcircleadd}"In this report, we share relevant information about the impact we have and what we are doing to improve – on climate, on environment and on social responsibility – and we keep track of our efforts and our ability to improve further every day, year over year,” said John Thuestad, Hydro's executive vice president of Bauxite & Alumina.
The publication has specific sections on operations in Brazil, including the company's goals and performance in Energy and Climate Change; Resource management; Integrity, human rights and impact on the community; Organization and work environment; Innovation; Tax obligations, and actions against the Coronavirus, among others.
“The report was prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards, widely used by companies worldwide and referenced by international standards and conventions. GRI is an independent international organization with a network-based structure and a collaborating center for the United Nations Environment Programme,” Hydro said.
