Hydro’s aluminium building systems site in Landen has been certifies against the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative’s Performance Standard. The certification covers the the site’s aluminium conversion operations.
Hydro serves as the logistics and administrative center for the company’s aluminium building systems organization in the Benelux region.
{alcircleadd}Hydro’s other site in Belgium that received ASI certification are Ghlin, Lichtervelde and Raeren.
“Everyone here contributed to this successful outcome. It is a joint achievement that brings us forward in our sustainability agenda, and it supports our customer demands for aluminium products that are sourced and produced responsibly,” said Mieke Vander Plaetse, supply chain manager for Hydro in Landen.
More than 4,000 aluminium profile picking locations are situated at Landen. The Landen Excellence Center provides customers a modern showroom with real-sized samples of aluminium windows, doors and façade systems.
“All but a handful of our locations in Europe are now ASI-certified, and our remaining sites on the continent have processes ongoing. I’m really excited for the Landen operation, and excited about our entire organization. We are doing this the right way. Doing business the right way is what our company is about,” said executive vice president Egil Hogna, who leads Hydro’s Extruded Solutions business area.
