“The plant’s three other lines were unaffected and there were no injuries. The production line is expected to be operating at normal capacity during 2020,”Hydro said.

Albras has a production capacity of 460,000 tonnes per annum. Hydro owns 51% of the shares in this joint venture. The other shareholder is NAAC - Nippon Amazon Aluminum Co. Ltd., formed by a consortium of Japanese companies, trading companies, consumers and manufacturers of aluminium products. The plant produces high purity aluminium and foundry alloys.
