The aluminium scrap import of the island nation during 2019 was recorded with 159,742 tonnes and the foreign revenue expended on the import remained at $177.80 million.
Indonesia’s aluminium scrap import market has been projected with growth by 17.12% Y-o-Y, as the import volume is expected to reach at 187,105 tonnes, surplus by 27,363 tonnes. The expenditure on the import volume would be outstretched to $205.45 million, rise by 15.55%. When the projected import volume and expenditure of 2020 is added with the previous year’s figures it stands at 346,847 tonnes and $383.25 million respectively.
The exporting nations for Indonesia’s aluminium scrap importation are Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, etc.
Indonesia has been exporting aluminium scrap, though the volume depicts low but indicates growth during 2018-19, as the total volume of export during the phase recorded at 12,186 tonnes and the revenue earnings stood at $11.03 million.
The analysed export volume for 2020 to remain at 10,806 tonnes and the earnings projected stands at $11.52 million. However, when the 2020 export and earning gets summed with the preceding two years it denotes 22,992 tonnes and $22.55 million respectively.
The country’s aluminium scrap export in 2018 was marked at 2506 tonnes and foreign revenue earning stood at $3.25 million, whereas in 2019 the export saw growth by 286.27%, as the export volume surged to 9680 tonnes and the earning also climbed to $7.78 million
The export for 2020 has been analysed with growth by 11.63% Y-o-Y, as the export volume is expected to stand at 10,806 tonnes and earnings to rise at $11.52 million.
The importing nations for Indonesia’s aluminium scrap export are Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, etc.
