Jindal Aluminium Limited has completed a Rs 100-crore acquisition of Indo Alusys Industries Limited (IAIL) assets and begun production at the Bhiwadi facility.
Along with the assets of IAIL, its manufacturing plant in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan's industrial sector was also purchased. The site, which is around 70 kilometres from the national capital, provides Jindal Aluminium with strategic access to the northern market and a potential capacity of 14,000 metric tonnes per annum extrusions.
Jindal Aluminium's extrusion capacity is estimated to increase from 125,000 to 139,000 tonnes once fully operational. Apart from assisting Jindal Aluminium in expanding capacity, the IAIL agreement benefits the local economy, the community, and other stakeholders, according to the business.
Jindal Aluminium began production at its recently purchased factory on December 6th, with an initial capacity of 1000 metric tonnes per month, with plans to expand to 4000 metric tonnes per month by March 2022.
"With the growing use of engineered aluminium products in the Indian economy, this acquisition will allow us to better service the needs of the market and build capacity. Such inorganic growth allows us to focus on our core competencies and support the people, society and economy. Further, it strengthens our position as India's largest aluminium extrusion company and extends our lead in the sector," said Pragun Jindal Khaitan, vice chairman and managing director at Jindal Aluminium Limited.
Jindal Aluminium is focusing on new production prospects in India and is steadily growing its export market share. The corporation intends to expand capacity both organically and inorganically. The installation of a fifth caster to the rolling division, which increased capacity by 25%, and the commissioning of one of India's biggest environmentally friendly powder coating facilities were notable additions in 2020-21.
