Jindal Aluminium has reportedly acquired the AS9100D Aerospace Certification (based on and including ISO 9001:2015) from NVT Services, the aerospace certification agency. Jindal is India’s largest aluminium extrusion manufacturer, having an annual capacity of 2.2 lakh tonnes and over 4,500 crore turnover. But now, on receiving this certification, Jindal qualifies as a proficient extrusion producer for the aviation, space, and defence industry in particular.
{alcircleadd}The certification has been handed over to Jindal Aluminium’s Bangalore facility following the completion of a stringent two-stage audit process by NVT Services. The evaluation process started in January 2023 and ended in June 2023, after which Jindal Aluminium received the certificate.
AS9100D Aerospace Certification is regarded as a benchmark to ensure quality standards needed in aviation, space, and defence manufacturing and supply chain processes.
Pragun Khaitan, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, said: “The certification would pave the way for the company’s strategic expansion plans, consolidate its domestic and international reach in the industry and meet the rigorous quality standards demanded by the growing aviation, space and defence segment.”
Jindal has been increasingly focusing on the defence and aerospace segments over the past two years, expecting these industries to become primary consumers of extruded aluminium products.
