Keychron is en route to extending its Hall-effect gaming keyboard series with the full-size Keychron Q6 HE and the 75 per cent variant of the Lemokey P1 HE. Both the keyboards feature QMK firmware for personalisation, as well as gasket mount layouts and Gateron’s double-rail magnetic switches for a satisfying feel while typing along with exceptional gaming performance. The brand has confirmed the launch of both keyboard models in various ISO layouts.

{alcircleadd}In response to an enquiry by Notebookcheck, Keychron officials stated the release of the Lemokey P1 HE and Keychron Q6 HE in DE, UK, Swiss, and Nordic ISO layouts. However, it is yet to disclose a time frame for the ISO version’s market launch.
Keychron is introducing two new Hall-effect gaming keyboards to stay afloat with its competitor, Wooting keyboards. The Keychron Q6 HE is a full-layout keyboard priced at US$ 229 with a number pad, while the Lemokey P1 HE is a 75 per cent keyboard, a compact yet functional design without the number pad.
The new HE keyboards from Keychron, while seemingly similar, have distinct differences compared to the 75 per cent Lemokey P1 HE. Both feature aluminium plates and cases, but the P1’s silicone bean gasket mounts may feel stiffer than the silicone strips on the Q6 HE.
The P1 HE, priced at US$ 169, includes shine-through Cherry keycaps, enhancing RGB customisability, while the Q6 HE lacks this feature and faces challenges with compatibility due to its south-facing RGB. The Q6’s OSA (OEM Spherical Angled) keycaps are taller than the Cherry profile found on the P1; although they are more comfortable for typing, they may not be as suitable for gaming.
Both keyboards comprise Gateron’s double-rail magnetic switches with a 40 gf actuation force and 60 gf bottom-out power, offering gaming traits like rapid triggers and adjustable actuation points. Yet, unlike the Wooting 80 HE, the P1 HE and Q6 HE do not support 8,000 Hz polling, opting instead for wireless connectivity with a maximum of 1,000 Hz in 2.4 GHz mode, which is still competitive when it comes to gaming.
